My work in the last few months has done a full circle. I began paper cutting when I was making stencils to use to make embroidered hangings and now I have turned to them again after many years of paper cutting. I wanted to make some useful & something soft, something to hold in your hand and feel the texture of. So I started hunting for used linen; from second hand shirts and trousers, to table cloths and curtains and started to print on them......the textiles you will see here are all inspired by the angel churchyard carvings found in the Vale of Belvoir. Mysterious objects as no-one knows who designed and made them.

Each cushion is a one off, with a unique hand stencilled design on one side. Generally they are made with 100% linen and fully lined with recycled polycottons.
